Praise Him for what He is in Himself

“The duty we are called to—to praise the Lord, to praise His name; praise Him, and again praise Him. We must not only thank Him for what He has done for us, but praise Him for what He is in Himself and has done for others; take all occasions to speak well of God and to give His truths and ways a good word.” —Matthew Henry on Psalm 135

House of Israel, praise Yahweh! House of Aaron, praise Yahweh!
House of Levi, praise Yahweh! You who fear Yahweh, praise Yahweh!
Blessed be Yahweh from Zion, Who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise Yah!
—Psalm 135:19-21

To give His life as a ransom for many.

Jesus summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. —Mark 10:42

But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. —Mark 10:43

Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. —Mark 10:44

For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” —Mark 10:45

Loving people are blessed people

“Loving people are blessed people. For, 1. They are blessed of God, and therefore blessed indeed: There, where brethren dwell together in unity, the Lord commands the blessing, a complicated blessing, including all blessings. It is God’s prerogative to command the blessing, man can but beg a blessing. Blessings according to the promise are commanded blessings, for he has commanded his covenant for ever. Blessings that take effect are commanded blessings, for he speaks and it is done. 2. They are everlastingly blessed. The blessing which God commands on those that dwell in love is life for evermore; that is the blessing of blessings. Those that dwell in love not only dwell in God, but do already dwell in heaven. As the perfection of love is the blessedness of heaven, so the sincerity of love is the earnest of that blessedness. Those that live in love and peace shall have the God of love and peace with them now, and they shall be with him shortly, with him for ever, in the world of endless love and peace. How good then is it, and how pleasant.”
— Matthew Henry on Psalm 133
