AT SUNSET

AT SUNSET

I saw this sunset
I remember thanking God for it
He deserves so much more

I could not compare you to that sunset,
awesome work of God,
gone ahead,
out for the glory of you

A sunset fades,
disappears,
but another comes,
pleases, inspires

This was the problem,
this the tragedy,
watching you go down,
fading, disappearing,
where there won’t be
another you

I give God His glory,
His time, His world,
but, sometimes I give
through tears, groans
and yearnings
praying you’ll know
why we care
before the beautiful light
is no more

How happy is every child of grace
Who knows her sins forgiven
This earth she cries is not my place
I seek my place in heaven
