“Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps a promise being left of entering into his rest, anyone of you should seem to have come short of it.”
–Hebrews 4:1
“For we who have believed do enter into that rest…”
—Hebrews 4:3
“There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.”
–Hebrews 4:9-11
—
The reality of the “Sabbath rest” (Heb. 4.9) is that Jesus has already done all the work that could possibly be done and it is finished. Jesus has done the work of suffering on the cross and bearing the sins of the world. God has done the work of raising Jesus from the dead, and raising those who believe in Him to brand new life with Him. There is no more work to be done toward righteousness and salvation. The precious reality is that: Anointed Jesus Himself is our righteousness and peace. He Himself is our Life. He Himself has done the work that no one else could do… past, present or future. To continue “working” — to not “enter into that rest” (Heb. 4.11) — is to devalue and trample on the Son of God Who became the Lamb of God and fulfilled the requirements of the law. It is finished (John 19:30). Love has triumphed, by grace and mercy, over works of the law. Jesus Anointed Himself is our new Life and new Reality, our Treasure of treasures. He is so highly exalted, and His Work is so far reaching and unattainable by mere mortal men, that it is said that He has “passed through the heavens.” How marvelous, how wonderful! No words can describe this joy unspeakable and full of glory.
Thank You Father God in Jesus’ Name!

“Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.”
—Hebrews 4:14-16
“For Christ is the fulfillment {or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
—Romans 10:4
“For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
—Galatians 5:13,14
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.”
—John 19:30
“Let no man therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day, which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.”
—Colossians 2:16,17
